CARY, N.C. – As part of the Carolina RailHawks ongoing effort to forge closer ties to all of the Triangle-area youth soccer organizations, the RailHawks are pleased to announce the signing of three new and expanded partnerships with the following youth soccer organizations – Capital Area Soccer League (“CASL”), Triangle Futbol Club (“TFC”) and XL Soccer World.
As part of these expanded partnerships, RailHawks players and coaches will be participating in an increasing number of the youth clubs’ individual-team practices, helping to coach the various training sessions. In addition, certain players will serve as head coaches for certain teams throughout their youth season.
From a ticket standpoint, all members of CASL, TFC and XL Soccer World will receive a special 20% discount off of the individual ticket price for any RailHawks regular-season home game purchased online through the RailHawks link posted on their club’s website.
From a youth soccer development standpoint, the RailHawks are also looking to help identify and develop promising young local players through these partnerships. With input from club coaches and the RailHawks’ technical staff, the RailHawks hope to identify players who could periodically train with the RailHawks during the summer months, and who may also get an opportunity to play with the first team in a future exhibition match.
“We are happy that CASL, TFC and XL Soccer World have taken the lead in formally partnering with the RailHawks to help grow professional soccer in the area and further develop our local players,” said Curt Johnson, President of the Carolina RailHawks.
“I’m excited about the prospect of bringing in some local youth players to train and possibly play with the RailHawks this summer. We have tremendous youth soccer talent in the Triangle area, and I look forward to helping to create another opportunity for the best young players in our area to achieve their professional dreams,” said Martin Rennie, Head Coach of the RailHawks.
CASL is North Carolina’s largest soccer club, with more than 800 teams and 20,000 players coaches, officials, parents, volunteer and supporters. CASL offers Recreation, Challenge, Classic and U.S. Development Academy level soccer to players of all ages.
“It’s great for a young player’s development to be able to see levels above where they currently are,” said CASL CEO Charlie Slagle. “It’s great to have a professional franchise here that is not only exciting to watch, but can also be a meaningful part of helping our young players improve their quality of play.”
TFC offers Recreation, NCYSA Academy (Challenge), Classic and the only Super Y League program in North Carolina. TFC designs its programs to develop the complete soccer player and instill character traits that assist individuals in becoming a more positive influence within society.
“It’s a mutually beneficial relationship,” said TFC Director of Coaching Dewan Bader. “TFC wants to support pro soccer here in the community and the RailHawks are supporting TFC to work with our younger players. It’s great to have kids who can look up to professionals and work with them on the field as coaches and then go watch them on the field as players.”
XL Soccer World, located at 5600 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, seeks to combine the atmosphere, expertise and passion of world soccer into one facility, creating a wonderful place to play, practice and watch the beautiful game. XL offers programming for youth players of all skill levels, as well as many adult soccer leagues.
“We want a pro team here,” said XL’s owner Richard King. “It’s good for the community, and anything we can do to help support the RailHawks, we will. They are good role models for our kids, who enjoy watching their games and benefit from the overall experience of seeing professional soccer matches in person.”
