The Town of Cary, along with the Carolina RailHawks have come to an agreement with WakeMed Health & Hospitals to renew its sponsorship for three more years through December 31, 2017. WakeMed will retain its naming rights to the 150-acre soccer park known as WakeMed Soccer Park. However, the 10,000-seat stadium naming rights is no longer included in the deal. This change will enable the Town of Cary and the RailHawks to pursue other naming rights sponsor candidates for the stadium.
The stadium plays host to all of the Carolina RailHawks home games, as well as special events like the ACC Soccer Tournament, the NCAA College Cup, and various exhibition games including the U.S. Women's National Team game against Switzerland in 2014.
"We are thrilled with the renewal of the WakeMed Soccer Park naming rights agreement, which includes WakeMed as one of the RailHawks’ main sponsors for the next three years," said RailHawks President Curt Johnson. "WakeMed has been a tremendous partner over the past seven years, and their partnership will continue to be a key contributor to the growth of our organization going forward."
