CARY, NC — USL League One announced on Monday the Team of the Week Presented by Cleer Audio for Week 23 of the 2021 regular season, with North Carolina FC midfielder Nazmi Albadawi named Player of the Week after scoring twice in his final professional game before retiring, leading NCFC to a 4-1 win against the New England Revolution II.
After NCFC fell behind early, Albadawi cleverly rounded the goalkeeper to net the equalizer in the 16th minute of the game. He then doubled his tally with a fine strike from outside the penalty area in the second half, giving his side the cushion it needed to go on and secure the three points.
NCFC’s big win sees the side lead all clubs with three players represented in this week’s Team of the Week.
