CARY, N.C. (June 18, 2024) — Goalkeeper Antonio Carrera has been recalled from his loan to North Carolina FC by FC Dallas. The MLS club exercised the option to reclaim the U.S. Youth National Team keeper earlier this month. The 20-year-old Carrera made four starts in USL Championship play this season, making six saves on 11 shots on target faced. NCFC went 0-2-2 in his appearances.
North Carolina FC now has two goalkeepers signed to professional contracts; Jake McGuire and Akira Fitzgerald. The club signed Jacob Whitfield to an academy contract to fill Carrera’s roster spot.
