CARY, N.C. (Sept. 3, 2024) — North Carolina FC defender Ezra Armstrong has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 26, while forward Oalex Anderson earned a spot on the bench following NCFC’s 4-6 loss against league-leading Louisville City Saturday.
Armstrong provided two assists in the Week 26 matchup, bringing his season haul to five. The defender also won five duels, four possessions, three tackles and made three interceptions in an all-around solid performance. The Team of the Week honor is the fourth of the season for Armstrong.
Anderson found the back of the net twice Saturday, with both goals coming off Armstrong assists. The forward has now tied Evan Conway as NCFC’s leading scorer this season with eight goals. The Team of the Week honor is the second of the season for Anderson.
Rodrigo Da Costa’s stunning free kick to open the scoring in the 11’ also picked up some weekly award recognition from the league, with the strike being nominated for Goal of the Week. Fans can vote for Da Costa’s goal here.
