Monday afternoon, the NCAA released the 48-team field for the 2019 Division I Men's Soccer Championship, which will conclude with the College Cup at Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park from Dec. 13-15 (broadcast on ESPNU). North Carolina Football Club connections are seen throughout the field, as 10 of the schools participating in the tournament collectively feature 25 players from NCFC Youth, NCFC Youth Academy or NCFC U23.
The state of North Carolina is sending four schools to the tournament, as No. 4 Wake Forest, N.C. Sate, Campbell and Charlotte each qualified.
The Atlantic Coast Conference, which held its conference title match between Virginia and Clemson at WakeMed Soccer Park this past Sunday, has a record-setting 10 teams playing in the tournament, the most ever from a single conference.
